SW20 (South West Edinburgh 20 Minute Neighbourhoods), a group of SW Edinburgh residents, in conjunction with Longstone Community Council, is seeking to establish the level of interest in a local junior parkrun.

A junior parkrun, for children 4-14 (plus supporting adults), takes place every Sunday morning and is 2km in length (with potential for a shorter lap). Although called a 'run', it is not a race and participants are encouraged to go at whatever pace suits them. All parkruns are free to enter and operated by volunteers.

The only other junior parkruns in Edinburgh are in the Meadows or Inverleith park and so we believe there's a really good opportunity to hold such an event in SW Edinburgh.

By signing up, we will establish if there is a desire for such an event, will keep you informed of the event and will also (and most importantly) hopefully gain volunteers - this type of event is wholely reliant on volunteers. We will use your information only to keep you informed and to register your interest or contact you if you are able to volunteer.

At this time, we cannot guarantee such an event will happen, nor how long the process will take but we hope it will progress given sufficient interest.
